It's Time I Say to SHUT YOUR MOUTH

Someone I love was hurt today.

Someone I love who has confidence and joy and pride in who she is.

This person was living her life, doing what she loves, with people she loves, and some person….some being who thinks they have somehow made it………this person who thinks they have the right to judge, told her that she needed to lose weight. Well…..let’s be clear…..their insult was masked with……”do you know what macros are? You are supposed to count them.”

Seriously.

FUCK YOU.

Here is the reality people. You have NO RIGHT to comment on anyone. Their weight. Their height. Their hair color. Their gender. Who they love.

SHUT UP.

But tonight someone I love has been hurt.

I am overweight. I have been underweight. And you know what? I have been hospitalized and spent time in eating disorder clinics. I have worked on accepting WHO I AM for a long time. So when I hear that someone random thinks it is okay to mention to a stranger on the street that they have a problem…..I HAVE A PROBLEM.

When you say things like this, you are creating a scar that this person will carry for the rest of their lives. I remember the first person who said I was fat. FIRST GRADE. And I can give you a name. These scars last a lifetime, so keep your freaking mouth shut.

And the reality is, I am CERTAIN, that there is no one on this planet who can look at their life with no regret. We have all made choices that we question. We all have things we hide.

But when I see someone who attacks a stranger for no reason other than they feel the need to feel superior, I get so stinking angry.

My body is my body. Your body is your body. Wear what you want. I will wear what I want. Keep your freaking mouths shut.

NOBODY in this world has room to make judgement on another.

We all have the right to take up space. OUR SPACE.

And if you think somehow you are superior……you. Are. Wrong.

Keep. Your. Mouth. Shut.

My body is my body. Your body is your body. Until we know what happens in each, we have NO RIGHT to an opinion.

PERIOD.
